macOS Catalina 10.15.5 Free Download
macOS Catalina 10.15.5 comes two months after macOS Catalina 10.15.4, which introduced the ability to limit who can talk to you in Screen Time. As you know, developers are always the first to receive a new version of operating systems. They are given the opportunity to test updates and prepare their applications for new standards. It also helps to collect feedback from professionals on what needs to be corrected before mass release.
Battery Health Management
- The new version of the system introduces the Battery Health Management feature for MacBooks. It is designed to extend the life cycle of laptop batteries by reducing the rate of chemical aging.
- The Battery Health Management service analyzes the battery health and charging pattern, and in some cases will not allow the battery to be charged to its maximum capacity. Constantly charging your MacBook at full capacity can reduce the battery life.
- When your Mac is plugged in and the battery is fully charged, Battery Health Management will kick in and stop the charging process.
- Battery Health Management is an optional feature and can be disabled in the system preferences.
If you want to turn it off, follow these steps:
- Choose System Preferences from the Apple () menu, then click Energy Saver.
- Select Battery Health.
- Uncheck Monitor Battery Health, then click OK.
